MY PHILOSOPHY OF PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS
It feels as if everything is being forced these days, especially with AI and how no matter where you go, AI is integrated into every part of life now. This is bizarre to me. Of course, it has its use cases and could be good but too much of anything is bad right?
A photoshoot shouldn't feel that way. The moments shouldn't be forced on you. I love to capture the raw emotion that's displayed naturally through your day. I am more of the observant type rather than the directing type of photographer. Your day shouldn't change because I'm around. Forget I exist. Express the real raw you.
THE OVERALL BOOKING PROCESS
Booking a service should feel seamless. When you get to the end of the booking process, all of your questions should be answered and I should have all the information needed to proceed to our special day together. The whole experience should feel natural and easy to do.

I have been in the fine dining industry for over 15 years, that order or excellence in guest relations transfers over into my own business. I have learned a lot when it comes to working with clients through my extensive hospitality experience. You should feel welcomed in every sense and feel a level of comfort with my presence that you would expect in luxury photography. A sense of professionalism yet human.

Let's say you have booked a family photography session with me for mom, dad and the three kids. On the day of, we will meet and discuss what the package includes and go over all the small details and then we go our own ways. I'm not the type of photographer that will direct you in your every movement. I will be on the sidelines capturing YOUR day. The real authentic moments that slip by oh so fast.
These moments are the ones that mean the most. The importance of capturing that laugh after your kid accidentally falls on the grass and your other child helps them up. That grasp between their hands.. That moment is so beautiful.
Creating a Natural Atmosphere During Every Shoot
On that shoot, prior to arrival to your desired location, we will discuss the location and your plans throughout the day and the moment's that you are looking to remember. Ensure that you choose a location that means something to the family, a place where you can all be comfortable within even if that's just at home having dinner together. The place should feel natural enough to you that you aren't looking for me to guide your family through the photoshoot. Remember, I'm here to join you and your family. You are not here joining me on my photoshoot.

My overall life philosophy is about being as stress free as possible. In the kitchen world, they call having everything prepped and ready, "mise en place". That is how I go about the booking process and well practically everything. I have it all lined out to make this as stress free as possible throughout the whole entire process.

Moments that matter. All of them, between you and I and between the whole family together. The little moments of interaction are what make this whole thing so special. When you think about it, almost everything is about human connection, at least in my world it is. So our connection and the connection between you and your family behind the camera are utmost important to me.

There are certain things that you love that your child does. Like the twirl of their hair when they feel an onset of happiness. The smirk your husband gives when you've said something silly. There are quirks about each other and those are the visual narratives that belong in your story. These photos capture those quirks and add a powerful visual aspect to your story that you tell your friends and family.

There's no one like you and there never will be. Having your story captured and preserved for a lifetime is such a beautiful thing.
