Ivan Garza
My story
I grew up with a family that loved to adventure.
We would all pack in my grandma and grandpas van and go into the unknown. Back before gps had your routes planned for you and when grandpa would let me sit in the front seat with a big ol map and "guide" our ship into the vast wilderness. We drove to all parts of the United states. From Georgia to Wisconsin down to New Mexico, we spent our summers on the road. My grandmother has photo albums lining a wall designated for the memories of my families lives of all of our adventures together.
My sister and I would spend our time in the kitchen helping grandma make tamales, carrot cakes, pineapple upside cakes, rice and beans to sell to our church people in order for these adventures to happen. We would collect cans and turn them in for spare change to fund our gas guzzling van. We earned our adventures and we sure did love it.
As I grew older, I carried that adventurous spirit with me. Leaving my home at 19 on a sporadic whim to california, I landed in alabama. Haha I know that's the complete opposite direction but thats the adventurous spirit I mentioned. I spent a few years there and met a few friends that moved to Colorado and I hitched a ride there with intentions on flying back in a few days. So, I had my backpack with clothes for 3 days, no cell phone and $30 on a gift card my dad gave me. I spent a decade in the mountains of Colorado with a summer in Grand Teton National Park and half a winter in Big Sky, Montana before making my move to live here in Atlanta, Georgia.
I fell in love with capturing my adventures throughout the mountains out west and still to this day you can find me outside capturing my adventures throughout the east coast with my son and my toy aussie named nimo!
I love capturing an adventure and being close to my son, capturing these moments we share together really ignited this venture into capturing the moments that you share with your family. There's nothing more important than spending time with the ones you love and I want you to be able to look back at these moments in your life and be grateful that you were able to have them captured.
